today for lunch i made eggplant and tomato sandwiches... it is raining and it is cold again.

i think it's allergies and not a cold...

last night i made garlic potato leek soup for supper - good for a potential cold even though it's turning out to be allergies. i think the trick is to sauté the garlic and herbs, then add the leeks, then add the potatoes and then add the water. that way the potatoes can soak up some of the good flavor and not just the water.

i am stretching two new canvases right now and will start working on them friday - i have a bunch of landscape sketches and photographs from a road trip and want to try working from them.

i'm getting a cold...

this weekend i did some baking to relieve my anxiety about the war. i baked chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, and an herb parmesan loaf. tonight for supper i made stir fry asparagus and carrots with toasted sesame seeds and rosemary potatoes. last night i had an avocado omelet. it was good.

i also got some painting done - here is the yellow monster which i am going to put away for awhile...

today i worked on the yellow painting (the yellow monster) and i have made a mess of it - it is much too confusing now.



i am scared to try this...



to redeem (for the painting mess) myself i made polenta with an eggplant tomato sauce.
it was good except the bell peppers which didn't cook long enough; they were a little hard.

i am not saying what i had for supper tonight; it's much too redundent... but for breakfast i made blueberry pancakes - yummy!

today was the first warm day in i don't know how long - blue sky and warm sunshine - i had pictures but unfortunatley they were erased so i have no proof - but it really was great out - all the people on the steet seemed dazed by the sun.

there was no progress on the yellow painting worth showing.

today i had lunch with michael at Lupes (the corner of Watts and 6th Ave. just above canal). michael had a tostada with black beans and guacamole. I had a chile verde burrito - they have the best chile verde burritos ever!! you must eat one.




i made a pizza with spinach and mozzarella for supper. it was a bit misshapen because i had trouble getting it onto the pizza stone. but it was still good.

this morning i started the yellow painting; the blue one is from last weekend. i am just whatever about the blue one but am excited about the yellow one.

last night we had a frozen whole foods brand pizza with orange juice. the frozen pizzas are actually not that bad. tonight will probably be equally sad as far as supper goes - i'm thinking cheese eggs and grits... or maybe just double chocolate cookies...

i worked on this painting over the weekend (after and before). i really liked the flowers but couldn't stand them anymore so i painted over them. you can still kind of see them through the white. i worked on another one but my camera was having a hard time with the color.


i don't know what to make for supper tonight - i ate too many brownies today so i am not very hungry. the eggplant parmesan i made last night was good.

last night i made a pizza with an herbed crust and potato on top - it was really good - the crust got really bubbly (which i like). tonight i think i am going to have boiled eggs and orange juice.

these are some fish that live in my apartment - they were adopted from a large corporation where they were being neglected...



this weekend it is supposed to get up to fifty degrees. maybe the snow will melt - i am going to paint and make eggplant parmesan on saturday.

so this is a painting i have had up high on a wall for awhile - i am not sure if it is done yet - i think it is....



last night i made red chard and potato soup for supper - it was really good - that's what we are having again tonight - also i think we will finish the king cake.

new paintings i am working on - both are a bit too sweet...

I'm going to bed. I love my boyfriend.
