crazy wind tonight - ben and jerry's mint chocolate cookie ice cream is pretty good. michael made artichoke tomato pasta tonight - it was yummy.

Monday, November 10, 2003

it is cold outside - i don't like the cold. Michael is making chard and potato soup for supper.

I love chocolate croissants...

all i do these days is make scarves and flowers - that's good for me but bad for my blog.

Thursday, October 09, 2003

Tuesday, October 07, 2003

today for lunch i had a chile verde burrito. the weather is beautiful - it's perfect outside.

thursday is shecky's "girls night out" 2000 women, an open bar and 55 vendors - supermaggie is a vendor - i am slightly frightened

i had another grill cheese for supper tonight. i've been having them a lot lately. last night i had a salad with tomatos and apples, corn on the cob and biscuits with honey. i love biscuits with honey, but only right after they come out the oven - they just aren't the same the next day.

supermaggie blew up for a little while and all email was returned to senders so try again.

Sunday, August 03, 2003

okay now my archives work.
this weekend i made kale and potato soup, blueberry muffins with orange zest, and banana pancakes. the blueberry muffins were not so good - the orange zext made them taste like fruitcake in a bad way.

i made a scarf and will talk more about that next week.

i desperately need more hours in the day. i unfortunately need at least ten hours of sleep to function happily - i get six to eight so i function.

my archives no longer work and i don't know why - they worked for a while - suggestions?

yesterday, on the northeast corner of 6th ave and 18th street, i fainted! it was very very strange. we were in bed bath & beyond (which sucks) and i stubbed my toe and bent part of my toenail off and it really hurt. i got a little lightheaded so we went out to the street and then i fainted. while i was out i thought i was at home in my bed. it was silent. i was having a dream about a green field, then everything started spinning. there were stars, the street sounds came back, and i was on the street corner. that's when i woke up. there were people staring (i was a street scene). happily michael was with me so i didn't actually fall on the ground. also some very kind passerbys stopped to help so thanks to them.

yesterday i had tofu dogs for the first time. i have been reluctant to try them just because but they were quite tasty - maybe because it has been so long since i have had an meat hot dog.

today we went to the farmers market and bought cherries, strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes and collard greens. the strawberries are amazing - they are soooo good.

superymmy - fresh stawberries, hagen daaz raspberry sorbet, and homemade brownies.

austin was lovely so was baton rouge. it seems that austin has cleaned up and built up quite a bit since the last time i spent any time there - it was before the boom. i got to see the white stripes play at stubbs bbq - that was cool.

driving pictures between houston and baton rouge

i had to delay my flight back to ny for a day on account of bill - i didn't know if we would make it to the airport in the storm - and i wasn't wild about taking off during a tropical strom. it was nice to have a free day in baton rouge, i helped my brother peel wallpaper off his bathroom walls.

Sunday, June 22, 2003

this rain is unbelievable - it's been the rainest june ever here in the northeast. tommorrow i go to new orleans then austin and baton rouge so finally i will get to see the sun! i can't wait!!! i love austin.

good news - housebroken a lovely new shop in brooklyn (click the link for directions) has some of my flowers, scarves and journals! also vanessa of housebroken has kindly offered to allow me to hang some of my paintings. there is going to be an opening july 10th. so i am really excited about that.

yesterday they were holding mike tyson at the police station across the street (i can see it from my window). people stood in the pouring rain for about six hours to see him. when he finally came out it probably took 8 seconds to get from the door to the car that was waiting for him. i so don't get it.

Monday, June 16, 2003

i have been so busy working and doing stuff with supermaggie (we are now set up to accept credit cards and we are working on a new scarf section with more color options) that i haven't had any time to paint or cook. we have been eating lots of frozen food - yuck. i did, however buy some stretcher bars and hope to get some canvases ready to go. i seem to work in spurts anyway. i wish i could just work on my paintings all the time.

next week i am going to austin and to baton rouge - maybe i will finally get some good hot weather since we have had none this year in the northeast.

eewwww but fascinating

that's me having brunch and that pretty necklace around my neck - it's from pashupatina Natalie makes them in Los Angeles.
this is rebecca modeling her lovely hand knit poncho that she knit. she is making me one too in exchange for a black superpointy and the two baby flowers seen on her collar.

Tuesday, May 13, 2003

the new painting section is up!

eventually i hope to put up some of my really old stuff - stuff from before new york - stuff from before digital cameras - so i have to get my old slides scanned.

any comments or suggestions about the changes to supermaggie are welcome!

i don't know how to make my archives work.

lots of pretty things to buy!

Friday, May 02, 2003

we have been working and working on the new supermaggie. i keep thinking of more things to put on it. hopefully we will finish up and have it going for next weekend. (maybe sooner)

go to lekkner.com. cool stuff - clothes, handbags etc. my favorite is the mohair handbag with contrasting piping - aka the "Mo".

Wednesday, April 23, 2003

louisiana was nice - it was hot and sunny. i worked in my parents yard - planted flowers - it was nice. unfortunately, baton rouge is turning into a giant strip mall. my favorite coffee shop from high school is going to be bulldozed to make way for a super-walmart. it makes me sick.

Wednesday, April 16, 2003

i haven't cooked anything interesting lately - maybe when i get back from my trip...
i am going to louisiana for a few days.

this is a painting that i reworked - it is a little too easy but i still like it. the black spots are pom poms.

Saturday, April 12, 2003

last night i made another pizza. today i am baking lemon squares and they smell really good.

today i went to chelsea to look at art and to century 21(the department store) to buy towels. there was a nice show of ashley prine's paintings at clementine gallery i think the show closes april 19th. i bought new towels and a "mini maglite" at century 21. the security experts recommend carrying a flashlight with you at all times, so if something goes bad you will be able to find your way out. i don't know... but now i have one.

i took these pictures today on the edge of a parking lot.

Sunday, April 06, 2003

this is what i am working on now...

also i am busy getting supermaggie ready for the new felt flowers.

but i still had time to make food. friday i made chard and potato soup with parmesean. today i made chocolate chip sweet buns. the soup was good but the buns were only so so...

Tuesday, April 01, 2003

for supper tonight i made tomato and artichoke pizza -

these are felt flowers i made that i am going to make into pins and brooches - i hope to have them ready for sale by the middle of april...

i think it's allergies and not a cold...

last night i made garlic potato leek soup for supper - good for a potential cold even though it's turning out to be allergies. i think the trick is to sauté the garlic and herbs, then add the leeks, then add the potatoes and then add the water. that way the potatoes can soak up some of the good flavor and not just the water.

i am stretching two new canvases right now and will start working on them friday - i have a bunch of landscape sketches and photographs from a road trip and want to try working from them.

Sunday, March 23, 2003

this weekend i did some baking to relieve my anxiety about the war. i baked chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, and an herb parmesan loaf. tonight for supper i made stir fry asparagus and carrots with toasted sesame seeds and rosemary potatoes. last night i had an avocado omelet. it was good.

i also got some painting done - here is the yellow monster which i am going to put away for awhile...

the latest (and a detail) (it's kind of a big file - sorry)
